NAGS hosts monthly potlucks and also conducts other events throughout the year (staffing a booth at Gay Pride, a yearly holiday gathering, etc.). Our History
The Northlake Alliance of Gays/Lesbians & Straights (NAGS) was organized in 1998 when a major video rental chain in the Northlake area eliminated it's gay/lesbian section. After a successful negotiation, the section was reestablished and improved. After resolving this issue, we surveyed our members and found that they wanted a vibrant social organization coupled with social awareness and action.
Today
We have over 100 members who are establishing and strengthening friendships and community involvement in Northlake and its adjacent areas. NAGS members include a diverse mix of couples, singles, women, and men of all ages. Children are welcome at most of our events too! We are the largest group of its kind in DeKalb County, Georgia.
